What we say...
2013 Wedges Test
Certainly the darkest finishes on test – our test team felt it made the grooves difficult to see at address. James felt the rectangular sole design limited its versatility considerably; shots had to be played with a square blade or only slightly open.
All testers were surprised at the amount of spin they could generate around the green, especially from sand where it excelled. The consistency of the spin was also commendable. Kit and Chris felt the head size was chunky and felt a touch heavy.
Results (out of 5):
Looks: 7 Feel: 6.5 Versatility: 5.5 Control: 6.5 Spin/Launch: 6485 rpm/ 28˚(Fairway), 2345 rpm/ 36˚(Rough)
The razor grooves in the MD Golf Superstrong ST3 wedge maximise spin generation while a gun metal finish reduces glare.
