What we say...
The XC is Yonex’s first crack at producing a rescue club, and we were surprised and impressed by its robust design and solid performance. Carbon crown heads usually deaden sound, and ultimately feel.
The head on this golf club has a crisp sound and responsive feel at impact that is really pleasing, even when you don’t hit great shots. The well-balanced mid-sized head, with its rounded sole, is versatile and effective from all sorts of awkward lies, making the Yonex XC just as capable of digging shots out of the rough as it is for hitting sweet, solid shots from a decent lie or from the tee.
Our only gripe was the lack of an alignment aid on the crown, which less experienced golfers may find intimidating. That aside, this golf club is a solid all-rounder.
Features a steel face and sole with a carbon graphite crown. The weight-saving crown lowers the centre of gravity to get the ball airborne.
