What we say...

The Tech:

Designed for the distance player needing power and accuracy but also a confidence inspiring head shape and size. Larger heads on the stronger lofts provide forgiveness on longer shots while flatter faces on the weaker lofts provide optimal gear effect for accuracy.

Our verdict:

The D200’s 54g shaft is about 30g lighter than the Fubuki that’s used in Wilson’s FG Tour F5 hybrid so you’ve got to expect a completely different feel. In the right hands we reckon “lightweight” technology is good, its always been our beef that it doesn’t suit everyone. Compared to some the D200’s got quite a deep face and this along with the slightly stronger loft could have been the determining factor’s in the reasonably low launch and below average spin. As far as distance goes the D200 was just above average against all hybrids tested.

Bottom line:

The “Right Light” technology used in the D200 is good tech, its simple really but make it lighter swing it faster is the basic idea. It’s just that many golfers aren’t used to the feel of “super lightweight” clubs yet.  We reckon it can give some timing issues depending on your swing type.
