What we say...
Srixon’s ZX hybrid has been designed with input from the brands tour staff and boasts the same Rebound Frame technology as the brands ZX5 and ZX7 drivers.
Srixon make no secret their focus has switched to decking out decent players with the equipment they desire. The thinking means the ZX Hybrid specifically targets skilled players with a smaller footprint, square face angle and squared off toe shape.
What you need to know about the Srixon ZX hybrid
Rebound Frame
The ZX hybrid comes with a new rebound frame. Srixon say it provides a more efficient transfer of energy. It’s not just a new face though, it’s a whole new construction method. Two zones (the hybrid face and body surrounding it) are specifically optimised to deform at impact and snap back, which Srixon say gives a more efficient transfer of energy than other driver designs.
Crown step
Srixon and sister company Cleveland have toyed with crown steps on drivers, fairway and hybrids for quite a few years. Srixon say the tech moves the centre of gravity down and increases overall MOI, which gives extra launch right alongside added distance and extra forgiveness, for great shot to shot consistency.
Think of it as helping to hit shots higher from the turf with extra help keeping shots in play from the tee and you won’t go to far wrong.
Tour-preferred shape
The Srixon ZX hybrid is designed to suit a players eye but also inspire confidence when you face the most challenging shots. Following input from their professional tour staff the ZX has a smaller footprint, straight face angle and squared off toe.

Verdict: Srixon ZX Hybrid
Srixon woods and hybrids don’t get anywhere near the credit they deserve, but like the company’s forged irons – which have recently been spotted in the hands of Brooks Koepka – they’re really rather good.
We’re suckers for cute little fairways and hybrids, the sort that make you smile every time you pull them out of the bag. The ZX is definitely one of those clubs. The tiny head won’t be the best fit for golfers who spray shots all over the face, and there are bigger-headed models that can help with that.
But for reasonably consistent ball strikers, the ZX is a beauty. This sort of head size is perfect for rifling through rough, nipping shots off the top of sand in a low-lipped fairway bunker and, according to our 2021 Hybrid Test data, it will get you out there alongside the best from tee, fairway and on a par 3.
