What we say...
The Tech:
Srixon say the Z H45 hybrids feature redesigned shapes for smoother turf interaction and a more confident look at address. An ultra hot maraging steel face raises COR (face rebound) by 13 points to maximise ball speeds. A low centre of gravity promotes a high but penetrating ball flight.
Our verdict:
With a low arrow like ball flight and compact head shape we reckon the H45 is particularly suited to the accurate ball striker. The looks are simple, unfussy and to be honest probably what lots of golfers really want. The full-length face grooves give a refreshing appearance and by hitting our longest shots from mainly the heel its got to be said Srixon’s “ultra hot” face brings additional performance to the table. Like many of the hybrids on test there’s no alignment aid on the crown but we didn’t feel this detracted from the H45’s strong performance.
Bottom line:
Compare the head size of the H45 to Srixon’s Z355 and its easy to spot the type of player each is aimed at. We reckon Srixon are underrated when it comes to equipment, our 2016 testing’s shown their kit out performs expectations and definitely is worthy of another look from you.
