Mizuno MP-18 MMC Fli-Hi Hybrid Review: You need to know

The players long iron say Mizuno. A sleek compact, profile looks the business, while the maraging fast face, 20g tungsten toe weight and internal pocket enhance ball speed, giving a massive boast to performance over traditional long irons. Mizuno reckon the Fli-Hi have been designed to accompany any MP-18 iron model.

When and how to replace your 5-iron

Mizuno MP-18 MMC Fli-Hi Hybrid Review: We say

If our test pro had his pick of any club in our hybrid test for his own bag this would be his choice, as he reckoned the MP-18 was everything a driving iron should be. Obviously for most club golfers hitting a 19 deg #3 iron from the deck is the very reason we’ve turned to hybrids in the first place, which makes it a really difficult proposition to recommend to average club golfers. Our data spells out perfectly how a driving iron body performs differently against more traditional hybrids. Ball speed was 3 mph slower than the fastest, while launch angle and peak height were 2 deg and 4 yards lower respectively, but carry distance was 5 yards up on the test average.

Mizuno MP-18 MMC Fli-Hi Hybrid Review: Verdict

For most club golfers the Fli Hi will be a way to daunting prospect. It’s got a tiny, narrow head but that’s exactly what a select few golfers look for in a utility long iron. If you’re the type of golfer who’s able to put a driving or utility long iron to full affect go ahead and fill your boots the Fli Hi is a beauty.
