What we say...

Tech:

The Predator hybrids are availble in 4 different colour options. They give great performance at an unbeatable price. A low profile head with colour co-ordinated alignment design aids aiming. Ideal for any approach shot.

Our verdict:

The hybrid that put the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons, as it so divided our testers. It’s the cheapest hybrid we tested, so it doesn’t have any branded components and there’s some very funky crown graphics. But if we look at performance through data there’s no doubt the Predator can do a job for £70. For our test pro the Predator generated a ball speed 5 mph slower and carry distance 10 yards behind the very best. But considering you could replace both your 3 and 4 iron with Predator’s for less than most single premium hybrids it will be attractive to many golfers.

Bottom line:

The Predator was oh so close to breaking into our Top 10 2017 hybrids, as its performance was sound considering the price. After much discussion and scratching of heads we felt because there’s only two loft options it’s a little bit limited. But if you need a 19deg or 22deg hybrid on a shoestring budget the Predator does represent excellent value for money, exactly as Lynx promised.
