TG Hybrid Test 2012
Brilliant performance statistics across the board for our testers. David commented on the powerful feel and towering ball fl ight but our team rated it down on aesthetics because of the raw crown. Great performer though.

Cleveland know the raw finish on the Mashie will be a hit or a miss. It was exactly that on test with Dave liking it while Chris, Leon and Ben weren’t as taken. But in terms of performance it did well across the board. Chris said the shaft was light, which would suit some amateurs and he loved the glide rails on the sole and the deeper face. The generous head size gave Ben confi dence and he said it was forgiving, although Leon felt he was a little prone to hitting it left.

The first thing to say about Cleveland’s Mashie, their new hybrid for 2011, is that it features a very retro look. The raw finish has been designed to look rugged at address, in order to encourage a variety of shots from different lies. Cleveland say it is one of the most forgiving hybrids currently on the market, with a low and deep centre of gravity helping to get the ball up in the air more easily - perfect for higher handicappers. The large face also aids confidence and enhances game-improvement.
