First Hit Test – Kit Alexander 8 hcap

It’s easy to see why Adam hybrids are used by so many PGA Tour players after hitting this. The Cut-Thru Slot delivers on its promise; the ball comes off the face really hot. It’s one of the longest hybrids I’ve ever hit and there isn’t too much loss of distance or direction from offcentre hits either. I also noticed reduced spin (also a result of the Cut-Thru Slot).

Some hybrids can balloon but the Super S produces a penetrative flight but still goes high enough to land softly. I also found the ball goes longer and higher from slightly lower hits on the clubface. Finally, the contrast of the white crown and black clubface made it very easy to square up at address.

Pros: It looks great and is very forgiving on off-centre hits. It also produces a penetrative flight.
Cons: I’d still consider £120 for a hybrid a tad pricey.

Adams Golf have announced the release of their new Super S range, which will include a driver, fairway wood, hybrid and iron set.

It is the first time Adams Golf has launched an entire family of products under one name.

“We felt it was important to give the whole line a common name since they all share many of the same technologies,” said Tim Reed, Vice President of Research and Design for Adams Golf.

The woods will feature a matte white crown and contrasting PVD face to make the club easier to align and look larger.  The addition of these features produce clubs that inspire confidence at address.

Adams - whose hybrids were the most popular on the PGA Tour in 2012 - say the Super S rescue is the culmination of years of development with the best players in the world. Reed continued saying: “With the further developments in VST, we have created a hybrid that is extremely hot and incredibly easy to hit.”

The hybrid also features a Cut-Thru sole slot to increase ball speeds for greater distance. The refined crown slot is thinner, deeper and longer that provides a new level of performance that makes getting the ball in the air easy from any lie.
