Wilson Staff Infinite Michigan Ave Putter Review: You need to know
A slightly shorter, stubbier and wider toe and heel weighted cavity blade. The hosel design means there’s lots of toe hang which suits arcing putting strokes. Extra weight in the grip creates a counter balanced putter. A double milled face ensures precision, parallel and perpendicular sight lines highlight alignment and your strokes path.
Wilson Staff Infinite Michigan Ave Putter Review: We say
Wide body blade putters are growing in popularity fast. Part of the reason for the growth is down to how the best designers now use short slanting hosels on wide blades which means less toe hang, making them more suited to less arcing strokes.
Yes the Michigan Avenue is a wide body blade but don’t let it fool you, it doesn’t quite have the same short slant hosel as the Odyssey 1WS. It means there’s much more toe hang than you might expect. Our testers liked the modern wide head and solid feel along with the sound it produced, even though it doesn’t have a face insert.
Do putter face grooves really make a difference?
Wilson Staff Infinite Michigan Ave Putter Review: Verdict
Not a putter to be bought on a whim, from our experience strong toe hang models suit less golfers and usually very specific types of putting strokes. A decent introduction to the benefits of wide body blades if you have an arcing stroke to match the toe hang.
