The weight was perfect and the soft feel from the deep milling on the face was a real winner.
What we say...
2013 Putters Test
This putter scored the highest marks among the blades for both performance and the subjective categories, making it a worthy winner. All testers agreed the darker finish oozed class and the lack of alignment aid and smaller head size on the Newport was preferred over the Newport 2 model. Alignment still wasn’t an issue, though.
The weight was perfect and the soft feel from the deep milling on the face was a real winner. James said it has a perfect design for someone with a neutral stroke and start line and that the shaft and head combo is ideal. Dave said the lack of alignment aid was actually his favourite thing about this club. All testers spoke of the confidence they felt at address and how naturally square it sat to the ball.
