What we say...
The Tech:
An aircraft grade aluminium sole and face-plate remove weight from ineffective areas of the head and reposition it to increase forgiveness on off centre putts. 15g weights in the toe and heel increase MOI performance, Titleist say the head shape is confidence inspiring too.
Our verdict:
The X7M takes the forgiveness of the X7’s fanged body design a stage further by joining up the fangs at the back. The heavier steel chassis plays its part in increasing stability while the lighter aluminium sole and face unit cleverly double up as highly visual alignment lines too. We really liked how the 7M’s alignment lines aren’t intrusive like some, but instead frame the ball perfectly at address and highlight the path to take the putter away on really nicely. Feel and roll were fantastic and for us the oversized head breeds confidence on those clutch putts from 4-6 feet where you know you should be holing out but often end up missing.
Bottom line:
Building stability into your putting stroke will pay real dividends when it comes to toting up holed putts at the end of the season. The X7M’s design from top to bottom is aimed at stability and we reckon it’s a sound place to start if you’re looking to improve your flat stick performance in 2016.
