What we say...
The Tech:
Go bigger get better say Taylomade with the OS. The thinking being that Oversized heads are more stable and thanks to removing ineffective weight inside the head, MOI is increased to lower the effect of off centre hits.
Our verdict:
Don’t be fooled by the “Oversize” name the Daytona really isn’t much bigger than a Ping Anser, well certainly not in length from toe to heel anyway. Yes the face is a bit deeper but its certainly doesn’t look massive sat behind the ball. The Daytona’s got a real look of quality to it which is only boosted by the red CNC back insert which acts an alignment aid too. We really enjoyed the feel from the heavy milled aluminium face and we’d have to admit the slightly bigger head is great for alignment.
Bottom line:
You probably haven’t even considered using a “bigger” putter before but remember Jack Nicklaus won The Masters using one. For us the Daytona doesn’t look huge and if its higher MOI properties equate to just a few extra putts holed its got to be worth further investigation.
