What we say...

Technology
This counterbalanced, high MOI mallet putter has a surlyn face insert on a 380g clubhead as well as a 15-inch grip to create more stroke stability. Boasts a three-piece construction yet has the third-highest MOI of TaylorMade’s 2014 range.

Looks
A great-looking putter from all angles, especially looking down at address. It couldn’t be any easier to line up with the three white lines contrasted against the black centre.

Feel/sound
The feel of a counterbalanced putter was new to me and unusual at first, but as someone who struggled to hole out from short range, the feeling of the clubface squaring up naturally was one that appealed to me and my holing out certainly improved during the testing period. The thicker grip sits nicely in the hands and the soft texture enhances feel.

Reader Reviews:

● MP Practice strokes seemed to feel good, but the feel off the face seemed quite inconsistent. But it sat well and seems well weighted.

● JC I struggled with distance control; some seemed to ping off while others didn’t. I’m not a fan of the fang design, though it feels well balanced.

● JCox I liked the SuperStroke grip as well as the feel off the face, which is very soft; this makes a nice muted sound.

● DL There are a lot of sharp edges on the head which make it a taste unacquired by me. Yet I couldn’t fault the putter for tracking and performance.
