What we say...
The Tech:
Made in a couple of parts the Titan combines some fancy engineering. The heavy grooved face helps cut down on skid and gets putts rolling quicker. A subtle golf ball width alignment aid on the crown helps you visualise your putting path.
Our verdict:
The Titan Z certainly won’t win any beauty contests any time soon, its big dark body was likened to a Stealth Bomber by one tester. Putting looks aside we actually putted really nicely with it, but unfortunately for Rife unless you’re Jordan Spieth most golfers do actually putt with their eyes open. Its obvious the Z has undergone some serious CNC milling which in engineering terms needs to be applauded. What it all adds up to is a very stable head that feels solid with weight located in the sole and crown and very little in between.
Bottom line:
To put it politely the Z is a bit wacky and “out there” but if you can see past the exterior it performs better than it looks. Very difficult to recommend with so much strong competition out there.
