What we say...

We may not see many square drivers around these days – remember their hyped-up heyday in 2008? – but in putters, specialists Rife still believe it has its benefits. They believe this is one of the best ways to position weight in the rear perimeter of a putter for extreme stability and an extremely high MOI. All this means the Deep Blue is one of the most forgiving putters in the Rife range.

The face is a fully-milled blue anodised aluminium insert, which is only a third of the weight of steel and this compensates for the weight deep in the club head. The insert also features Rife’s RollGroove technology to get the ball rolling better off the face.

2011 Review

George referred to this as an“extended mallet” and it certainly is elongated from face to the back of the head compared to others on test. But both he and Alex enjoyed the feel off the face, and also said it gave decent confidence at address. Jon also found it easy to line up putts with the Deep Blue, and commented on the very forgiving nature of the product. But for Alex, it felt a tad light and he noted that he had to force a lot of putts. A fantastic display from 25 feet helped to propel the Rife up the rankings.
