Pros
Very well-weighted and superbly-balanced.
What we say...
The Tech:
A traditional toe and heel weighted blade design. Full length modern face grooves help grab and grip the ball at impact to reduce initial skid and increase truer roll. A 303 stainless steel head ensures excellent feel and feedback.
Our verdict:
Rife burst onto the tour scene a few years ago but in the UK they’ve fallen away a bit in recent years. That doesn’t mean they don’t make some nice putters. The Aruba with its moderate toe hang looks a lot like a number of other putters in the test, but through tech they’ve moved the head shape on making it their own. There’s a tiny notch out of the top edge which when you’re correctly set up aligns with the white sight line, which we thought really useful. We also felt the full-face grooves helped roll putts really smoothly for such a classic putter.
Bottom line:
We felt the Aruba was a little light compared to some models, which means it might be more suited to quicker greens than slower. Difficult to heartily recommend when they’re not widely available in the UK.
