What we say...

The Tech:

Choose from either a lighter softer aluminium face insert or a 25g heavier steel version. True Roll grooves that vary in width and depth from the centre of the face offer forgiveness by normalizing ball speeds across the face. A classic Ping head shape.

Our Verdict:

Unbelievably 2016 is the 50th Anniversary of the original Anser and the putter is still going strong. Ping reckon the putter suits a slightly arcing stroke and we’d have to agree. No matter how much Simon loved the look of the bladed models his straight back and through motion struggled to get the best out of the Anser. All testers liked the black finish and really simple white alignment line which gives a great point of focus. Feel and roll from the aluminium insert was fantastic and would be well suited to putting on very good quality true running summer greens.

Bottom line:

A legendary design that’s as good today as it was when it was first invented in 1966. Just remember everything about the Anser can be custom fitted through Ping to make sure you get your perfect flat stick.
