What we say...
While the modern putting world is awash with all dancing, new fangled technology, the basics are still the key. The Ping Anser putter, while not being the coolest product on the market, simply gets the job done.
The elastomer insert behind the stainless steel face enhances feel and improves the sound and when you’re happy with these aspects, confidence and performance follow as sure as day and night. Everyone loved the Ping Anser and everyone had faith it would never let them down. Four decades after the first Anser, it’s still the pick of the crop.
The Ping Anser Putter won a gold award in this years putters test in TG.

2010 Review:
The Anser has an elastomer insert in the cavity to boost response. There certainly seemed to be a tad more forgiveness compared to some of the other blades on test.
Jon was all over it from six feet and also awarded it full marks for looks and feel. Mike was a fan too, saying that though he didn’t hole as many shorties, the confidence he got at set-up would help him long term. He also noted fantastic balance. Chris thought it was a “classiclooking” putter and that it was hard to be put off when standing over the ball. Tom did admit to preferring a slightly heavier putter than this, but loved the style of the head and this ultimately contributed to a fantastic overall performance.
The Anser may be old, but it’s still got some life in it. If you want a classic-looking blade with a touch of forgiveness, then give it a go!

This is not flash and gimmicky as the trend tends to be but it is a solid bit of kit that gets the job done and gives great feedback about the quality of your strike, understandable why this putter has stood the test of time. You will not regret the 65 quid it will cost to put this in your bag.
