What we say...
The Tech:
Odyssey’s White Hot face insert has won more tournaments than any other. For the RX they’ve updated it with a softer core and new oval patterned striking surface to reduce initial putt skid and increase feel. You also get to choose either a traditional rubber or oversized Superstroke grip.
Our verdict:
The Rossie was the putter that made Odyssey famous, when Nick Faldo rolled in the winning putt with it to beat Greg Norman at The Masters in 1996. But strangely for us with such a classic putter we didn’t all fall in love with the head shape this time around. Sight lines on the top edge and back of the putter need to align to show you’ve got the putter set up correctly which obviously worked as we all rolled home a stack of putts with the Rossie. If your after the softest feeling putter available the Rossie’s well worth a look as Chris Ryan thought it felt like putting with marshmallow!
Bottom line:
We might have questioned the looks of the Rossie but there’s no doubt about its solid performance. A classic design with some modern insert tech that’s not going to bust your bank account.
