What we say...
More than a decade after it first launched the iconic 2-Ball putter, Odyssey has unveiled two new designs that make the 2-Ball seem almost conservative. Both high MOI Jailbird and Havoc putters feature all-new head shapes and a White Hot face insert.
Versa Jailbird uses the contrasting black and white pattern seen on the rest of the Versa line, which grew from Odyssey research that shows the eyes focus better on crisp edges and contrast. The striped head (like old convict’s clothes) is designed to improve a player’s perception of face angle at address. In tests, this pattern allowed over 50% of golfers to align better and nearly 70% to align more consistently. This technology is coupled with a new laser-milled version of the White Hot insert for a more consistent sound and feel.
Details: Jailbird available in 33, 34 and 35-inch lengths, £159.

“We asked ourselves ‘what can we do to really accentuate and employ the Versa technology on a large putter?’ Well, if one line is good, two must be better. Versa technology has been a revelation and new ‘Double Versa’, featuring in the Jailbird model, pushes its effectiveness even further. All golfers, whether a Tour pro or game improver, can immediately see how their putter is aligned to the target, improving confidence and ultimately keeping more putts on line.” – Austie Rollinson, Odyssey designer
