What we say...
Odyssey’s Tri-Hot 5K putters have been designed to help with off-centered hits, a forward CG for better roll, and interchangeable weights to allow adjustability through the range.
Odyssey developed the series of Tri-Hot 5k putters with the goal of constructing a club that would push the boundaries of performance. In 2022, the brand introduced five classic blade designs which all had a multi-material construction, to offer golfers a forward CG (Center of Gravity) and higher MOI than most mallet putters.
Odyssey had managed to re-invent what a blade can accomplish with what sounded like complicated ideas but in fact, were very clear and straightforward. This is why the Tri-Hot features amongst the best putters in 2023.
For 2023 the company’s goal is to achieve the same re-invention of the putter but this time for mallets. To do so Odyssey moved the club’s CG position forward in the head, which they did with the blade.
As a result, you get a more forgiving and better-performing mallet. Applying large amounts of tungsten to the head allowed them to produce an inertia level above 5000 IZZ. In simple terms for the everyday golfer, this means more forgiveness!
This combination has improved performance in speed control, spin control, speed consistency on off-center hits, and a much tighter dispersion.
Features & Benefits
High Performance and Tight Dispersion from Stainless Steel Front
Built to improve performance by reducing the amount of side spin on off-center hits, resulting in putts that are closer to the original line, with tighter dispersion, and a greater chance to go in on less-than-perfect strikes. Odyssey achieve this through a 303 stainless steel front section that includes the hosel and face area. The back section of the putters has been milled to the exact shape and weight, helping to keep the CG forward.
Improved Forgiveness and Improved Roll From Tungsten Front Weights
They’ve precisely positioned up to 120 grams of tungsten behind the face in the toe and heel sections of the club head. The CG is moved forward for improved roll, while also increasing inertia to over 5,000 IZZ. It’s an improved level of performance that’s now available in new standard-size mallets.
Interchangeable Front Weights
Available in 5, 10, 15, and 20 grams these removable weights allow you to dial in your head weight to your exact preference.
Legendary White Hot insert
The most popular insert of all time is back with the original formulation, feel sound, and performance. The White Hot insert has been a staple of the brand for years and features in many of Odyssey’s best putters.
Red Stroke Lab Shaft
The newest generation of our proven multi-material Stroke Lab shaft features even better performance. The Stroke Lab shafts are a staple in professional golf with wins across all global Tours.
Head Shapes
Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K One putter
One is the archetypal toe and heel weighted blade putter. See the One’s slightly stubbier body and flowing curved back bumpers as an alternative to Ping’s Anser or Scotty Cameron’s Newport and you really won’t go too far wrong.
A cranked neck gives moderate levels of toe hang so the model is a good fit for slight arc strokes.
Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Two putter
The Two’s fuller, less sloping back bumpers and slightly longer blade length give a straighter-edged look at address. Tiger Woods loves the shape as he’s won 14 of his 15 majors with a similarly shaped Scotty Cameron Newport 2.
We like the contrast in colors between the darker front and lighter back section, which for some golfers will highlight the alignment of the blade at address. A cranked neck gives moderate levels of toe hang so the model is a good fit for slight arc strokes.
Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Three putter
Perfect for fans who remember the flowing back shape of a Ping Zing putter. A slant neck gives significant levels of toe hang so the Three is a good fit for golfers with strong arc strokes and players who like to feel the sensation of releasing the putter through impact.
Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Double Wide putter
The name double wide comes from the head being almost twice as wide as a traditional blade putter head. The Double Wide has a cranked hosel with a slight toe hang the model is suited to slight arc strokes.
Double wide putters have grown significantly in popularity over the last five years as their body size dictates offering slightly more stability and forgiveness than a traditional narrow body blade.
Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Triple Wide putter
The Triple Wide is a brand-new idea from Odyssey for 2022. Thanks to being significantly wider than a traditional blade putter the body boasts additional stability and forgiveness.
The size and straight edges can be a real bonus for golfers who love blades but want more forgiveness. The Triple Wide comes with a double bend shaft, so the model is face balanced and a good fit for straighter back and through strokes.
Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Rossie putter
Rossie Double Bend is a face-balanced double-bend mallet suitable for strokes with minimal arc and face rotation. The Rossie S is a mallet with a short slant hosel, suitable for strokes with arc and face rotation.
Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Seven putter
Seven S is a mallet with a short slant hosel, suitable for strokes with arc and face rotation. The Seven Double Bend is a face-balanced double-bend mallet suitable for strokes with minimal arc and face rotation. Then the Seven CH is a mallet with a crank hosel, suitable for strokes with moderate arc and face rotation.
