What we say...

Odyssey Ten putters include a new Stroke Lab shaft, their most forgiving 2-Ball ever and the model being used by new signing Jon Rahm.

When the Odyssey Ten Shape was introduced a few years ago it immediately became the brand’s most popular choice on Tour and with golfers who wanted to putt with more confidence.

TESTED: Best putters

How the Odyssey Ten putters look at address.

Aimed at everyone from Tour Pros to high-handicappers, the head design puts an emphasis on alignment and high MOI, and Odyssey say the new line-up improves on those two key performance features dramatically.

REVIEWED: Odyssey White Hot putters

The 2021 Odyssey Ten putters showcase exceptional alignment systems, including 2-Ball and Triple Track in a head construction that is sleeker and more forgiving. Gone are the holes that were found in the head of the previous model, replaced by a solid and striking black finish.

There are five models in total. The Ten, which has a straight-line alignment aid; the Ten Triple Track, designed to make alignment easy when used with a Callaway Triple Track Ball; the 2-Ball Ten, featuring Odyssey’s classic alignment aid; the 2-Ball Ten Tour Lined, which features an alignment line through the 2-Ball design; and 2-Ball Ten Triple Track, which combines Odyssey’s two biggest alignment innovations in one head!

Odyssey say the 2-Ball models are the best that they’ve ever made, with a profile that allows you to frame the ball at address like never before. World No.2 and new Callaway/Odyssey signing Jon Rahm will use the 2-Ball Ten model on Tour as he seeks to add a first Major to his six European Tour wins and five PGA Tour victories, along with sealing his spot in Europe’s Ryder Cup team for the match at Whistling Straits later this year.

Along with the array of head options, Odyssey Ten also sees the introduction of a new version of the brand’s Tour proven, multi-material Stroke Lab shaft.

It’s seven grams lighter than its predecessor, stiffer and even more stable to promote better tempo and more consistency in your stroke.

Each putter also includes the brand’s White Hot Microhinge Insert, a face which is designed to stop your ball from skidding and get it rolling faster.

Odyssey Ten putter review: The models

Odyssey Ten Putter.

Ten

The ‘standard’ model has a clean and simple look at address with a single, bold white alignment line through the entire middle of the putter head. We really like the simplicity of this finish. It is available in 33”, 34” and 35” with a choice of slant neck (30º of toe hand) or face-balanced with a double bend hosel.

Ten Triple Track

If you can’t find an alignment aid to suit your eye among the Odyssey Ten putter range then it probably hasn’t been invented yet. The Ten Triple Track uses Callaway and Odyssey’s revolutionary alignment technology and is designed to be paired with Callaway’s Triple Track golf balls to make starting your ball on line easier than ever. It is available in 33”, 34” and 35” with a choice of slant neck (30º of toe hand) or face-balanced with a double bend hosel. Not available in left-handed.

The Odyssey 2-Ball Ten putter.

2-Ball Ten

The original and classic, Odyssey say the 2-Ball Ten is the bes they’ve ever created thanks to its high levels of forgiveness. The hugely-successful alignment aid will inevitably prove popular with players of all levels and has already found its way into Jon Rahm’s bag. It is available in 33”, 34” and 35” with a choice of slant neck (30º of toe hand) or face-balanced with a double bend hosel.

Odyssey 2-Ball Ten Tour Lined putter.

2-Ball Ten Tour Lined

We love this slight tweak on the classic 2-Ball design. The single line through the 2-ball design makes alignment with a standard golf ball exceptionally easy and provides a nice, clean finish. It is available in 33”, 34” and 35” with a choice of slant neck (30º of toe hand) or face-balanced with a double bend hosel. Not available in left-handed.

Combining the best of Odyssey’s alignment aids, this putter is perfect if you struggle to line your ball up on the greens and start it on the right path. It can be used with a normal ball but ideally will be paired with Callaway’s Triple Track models. It is available in 33”, 34” and 35” with a choice of slant neck (30º of toe hand) or face-balanced with a double bend hosel.

Jon Rahm uses the Odyssey 2-Ball Ten putter.

What putter does Jon Rahm use?

It took World No.2 and new Callaway signing Jon Rahm no time at all to make the switch from his trusted TaylorMade Spider to Odyssey’s new 2-Ball Ten. The switch was never really in much doubt though. Not only did Rahm play and love an Odyssey 2-Ball in college, but he also got his hands on 32% more MOI performance (over the original 2-Ball) which effectively made the switch a complete no brainer.

Tested: Odyssey 2-Ball Ten Tour Lined review

Of the three 2-Ball Ten models we really like the simplicity of the Tour Lined (a single black line runs across the two golf ball sized discs, just like lots of tour players request), as it sets up really nicely behind a single alignment stripe golf ball. Triple Track golf ball fans of course are likely to prefer the 2-Ball Triple Track version.

If, like us, you found the original 2-Ball had too many distracting curved edges we think you’ll really warm to this new model. The more angular head and straight edges sit perfectly with the Tour’s single sightline and our eye. It goes without saying the sound and roll from the new Stroke Lab shaft and White Hot Microhinge insert are just fantastic. Just remember to get the right hosel set-up to suit your stroke, as each of the three models is available with either a slant neck with 30° of toe hang, or face balanced with a double bend shaft.

Odyssey-2-Ball-Ten-Tour-Lined-Putter

If you’re stuck between the 2-Ball Ten and any other model it’s worth remembering the 2-Ball Ten is the most forgiving 2-Ball of all time. Thanks to the increase in MOI you get 20% less twisting at impact, 38% more speed control and 44% more topspin consistency over the original 2-Ball. And that to us sounds like a perfect recipe for a whole lot more confidence and holed putts.

Odyssey Ten putters review: Shaft and grip

All five models come with the fantastic new version of the multi-material, Major-winning Stroke Lab shaft as standard. It’s seven grams lighter than its predecessor, stiffer and even more stable to promote better tempo and more consistency in your stroke. The putters all have a stock Odyssey Pistol grip and come with a stylish black/white/blue heacdcover.
