Odyssey OWorks #7 Tank Putter Review: You need to know

Odyssey’s engineers reckon the “microhinge” face insert in the Works redefines what golfers consider to be good roll. New finger shaped grips on the stainless steel face plate are combined with a thermoplastic elastomer feel layer to grab and interact with the cover at impact, lifting the ball into a better roll.

Odyssey OWorks #7 Tank Putter Review: We say

We don our cap to Odyssey when it comes to putter head shapes. They never feel the need to go back to the drawing board and reinvent models every year as they’ve got a ton of tour proven designs that already work. Instead each time they develop new tech it’s incorporated into their most popular models. So if you know nothing about the #7, it’s won majors and racked up millions of dollars of prize money in tour players hands around the globe. We’ve loved the #7 before and our feelings haven’t changed, it’s a very solid MOI putter design, and with the Tank version having a larger head and being 25g heavier (than the standard model) its capable of putting in a serious shift at ironing out the wonkiest of putting strokes.

Do putter face grooves really make a difference?

Odyssey OWorks #7 Tank Putter Review: Verdict

Look at the facts, and the #7’s got a lot going for it. It’s a cracking a headshape, the versa alignment system is enhanced by some simple red highlights and there’s a brand new “microhinge” face insert which feels amazing and rolls putts super smoothly. There’s also a Super Stroke Mid Slim oversized grip which gives the option to adjust counter balancing, it’s a lot of putter for £179!
