Odyssey OWorks #1 Tank Putter Review: You should know
Odyssey’s engineers reckon the new “microhinge” face insert in the OWorks redefines what golfers consider to be good roll. Finger shaped grips on the stainless-steel face plate are combined with a thermoplastic elastomer feel layer to grab and interact with the cover at impact, lifting the ball into a better roll. Extra weighting in the head and counter-balancing create a very stable ‘Tank’ blade model.

Odyssey OWorks #1 Tank Putter Review: We say
Odyssey can legitimately claim to have invented the putter insert. And ever since their first introduction in the 90’s their engineers have toiled over improving the feel and roll of their original design, and with the OWorks they reckon they’ve hit the jackpot. Little fingers on the insert lift putts into action and the resulting feel, sound and roll is different to anything we saw on test. If you’re not one to be seduced by CNC milled putters we reckon the #1 Tank is the complete stability blade putter. The blades long enough to aid alignment, a moderate toe hang suits a slight stroke arc and the extra counter balancing weight increases stability.
Do putter face grooves really make a difference?
Odyssey OWorks #1 Tank Putter Review: Verdict
You won’t find many counter balanced blade putters on the market, the Tank is about as good as they get. Ok the bodies not milled, but when it looks, feels, sounds and rolls putts as good as this who cares? If you’re in the market for a new heavy blade putter in 2018, you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t at least give the Tank a try.
