Upon strike, the ovals on the face develop a mechanical lock with the golf ball’s dimples creating friction and imparting an incredibly consistent roll for high precision distance control.

Cons
A little compact for a mallet.
What we say...
This was one of Jon and Dave’s favourites on test, while James also recommended it for regular golfers who struggled for confidence on the greens. Richard liked the feel, but did point out it was a little compact for a mallet.
At address, the Odyssey Golf Metal X #7 has a non-glare black finish to provide superb contrast against a white golf ball, along with clear white sight lines for aiming. Upon strike, the ovals on the face develop a mechanical lock with the golf ball’s dimples creating friction and imparting an incredibly consistent roll for high precision distance control.
The putter is a modified mallet with weighted alignment wings and a double-bend shaft with full-shaft offset.
