What we say...

The iX series, only launched in March this year, features Odyssey’s White Ice insert which is firmer and provides a more consistent roll. Jon commented on the way the ball seemed to roll better than lots of others in the category and this is in part due to the rough texture. This helps to increase friction between the ball and the insert to promote topspin.

Our test pro Tom was a massive fan of the look of the club, with the deep black PVD finish really catching his eye. It was notable that because of the dull finish, there were no glare issues.

Chris was on fire from six feet and he also produced the goods over the longer distance too. He thought the putter was the best balanced in the entire test.

Mike completed the circle of love by rattling in putt after putt. He did suggest it was a little on the heavy side, but his performance suggested that the blade worked for him. So there you have it; another magnificent performance from a true giant of the putters world.

The Odyssey Black Series IX NO 1 Putter not only won a Gold Award On TG’s putter test (issue 272) but also won the best on test award as well.
