What we say...
Designed for elite performance the Odyssey Black Series features precision milled putters with traditional styling. Rather than designing a simple, milled steel putter we used multi-material construction resulting in a rare combination of beauty, technology, and performance.
The putterhead has a rich, nickel-plated finish and is milled from 1025 carbon steel and tungsten to yield a low, deep center of gravity. Each model utilizes the Fine-Tuned Loft System, which optimizes each putter’s loft angle to produce pure roll characteristics.
1025 carbon steel body and the weighted tungsten flange create a low, deep center of gravity to promote true roll. Precision milled head creates optimal balanced weighting to promote a great feeling stroke and amazing accuracy.
Hogged-Out Hosel™ removes weight from the hosel to create a low, deep CG and a truer roll. A urethane dampening layer dampens vibration at impact for enhanced feel.

I've had more putters than hot dinners over the past few years, always looking for something that will give me the confidence on the greens. The Black i No 7 have proved to be the best of the bunch, almost banishing the dreaded 3 putt. Its heavier head weight (compared to the XG range) helps swing the putter on a 'true' line and the new insert feels firmer than previous odyssey models. The XG / White Hot ranges always felt too soft to me whereas this feels just right - somewhere inbetween a normal insert face and a steel milled face. The No 7 style may not be to everyone's liking, but the 'fangs' help me line up and the other models are well worth a try if you can't get you head around the No 7. Highly recommended, if a little expensive.
