Nike Golf Method 001 Blade Putter Review

As reviewed in our 2014 Putters Test: Anser-style head with a sight dot instead of line gives a very clean and simple look. Performed solidly, but touch was a slight issue. Still not convinced by Nike’s Polymetal grooves. Clean look at address helped focus on clubface alignment. Balls from the centre came off hot, so had to adjust stroke length. Holing out from short range seemed simple. Would like more alignment assistance, but was impressed with the feel and balance.

As reviewed in our 2013 Putters Test: James and Joel both agreed it has a nice, clean look at address, with a dot on top instead of a line. Joel immediately noticed that putts seemed to roll out much further than he expected, which took some time to adjust to. James also felt like balls rolled well, but with a soft feel off the face. Dave didn’t like the dot for the alignment aid but said the grip was comfy and balls came off with a soft feel.

As reviewed in our 2011 Putters Test: Jon loved the simplicity of the Method 001 and saw a noticeable roll improvement compared to some of the others on test. The putter features polymetal grooves which imparts topspin on the ball and reduces skid, for more reliable results on a wider variety of distance putts. George thought it oozed class, while Alex said it was great to putt with. But Chris had a nightmare from 25 feet, causing the 001 to come a little lower in the overall rankings. Still a very solid offering from Nike.
