What we say...

Tech:

A classic toe and heel weighted blade with a CNC Milled face for excellent feel and great low skid roll. A mid-size grip fits comfortably into the hands and helps control wrist breakdown at impact.

Our verdict:

At £80 the #2 is one of the cheapest blade putters we tested, but from its appearance and performance you wouldn’t immediately know it. The face is CNC milled and there’s hexagonal milled grooves so roll off the face was decent. The face is relatively thick compared to others which explains why we felt it lacked a bit of feel compared to the competition. The heads really simple, with traditional toe and heel weighting and a single white alignment line and a srtrong toe hang mean it’s well suited to an arcing stroke. In a time when putter grips have gone super-size the #2’s is much more mid-size which fits comfortably into the hands without feeling huge.

Bottom line:

The least expensive putter in our blade’s test just a couple of years ago came in at £49.99. It’s all changed nowadays as the cheapest we tested was £69.99 which begs the question, how seriously do you want a new putter? The #2 can certainly do a job on the short grass, but look closely and you’ll clearly see where the extra moneys spent if you do go for a premium alternative.
