Fazer Triosphere Mallet Putter Review

  • At a glance

  • TG Rating 2.5 out of 5
  • Owner Rating Not yet rated
  • Pros

Not a bad putter in its own right and the price makes it an option for a lot more golfers than many of its rivals.

  • Cons

The Triosphere wasn’t quite as well balance as some of the pricier models, but then you wouldn’t expect it to be.

What we say...

Calling this a ‘copy’ of a certain other putter is probably fraught with all kinds of legal difficulties, so let’s just say it shares one or two design characteristics. Where it differs, of course, is in its price. So, is it possible to buy a just-as-good version of one of golf’s best-selling products for £100 les than the original?

Well, not exactly – choose the Triosphere and you’re sacrificing certain key design elements. On the other hand, it’s not a bad putter in its own right and the price makes it an option for a lot more golfers than many of its rivals.

The first thing to point out is that the Triosphere alignment system doesn’t work as well as, say, the 2-Ball. Crucially, the 2-Ball discs are the same diameter as a golf ball – you’ll have to use one to see how important this is – while the Triosphere overlapping circles are much smaller, which can mess up your aim. The black line makes up for this a little and both testers liked the clicky face insert, but we both felt the Triosphere wasn’t quite as well balance as some of the pricier models. But then, you wouldn’t expect it to be.

Not in the same league as the putter it most closely resembles but not embarrassingly bad for the price.
