Evnroll ER2 Putter Review: You should know
Evnroll putters have a face milling pattern which Evnroll owner Guerin Rife says gives a progressive energy transfer. To you that means putts hit off centre roll virtually the same distance as on centre hits so you get new levels of accuracy and consistency. The ER2 is milled from a solid block of 303 stainless steel and hand finished in California.
Evnroll ER2 Putter Review: We say
Evnroll only started up a couple of years ago, yet its owner and chief designer Guerin Rife has been designing putters for 25 years. So it’s fair to say there’s a whole lot of experience and knowledge rolled into his new concept. The ER2 had the widest head in the blade putters test so the MOI and forgiveness should be slightly enhanced over most models, which certainly played out with the amount of putts our testers holed. A slight toe hang opens the blade design up to slightly arcing and straighter strokes and we thought it was very stable, easy to swing and keep online. The story with Evnroll is the specially shaped face grooves and we’ll happily admit to feeling a real engagement between ball and face at impact even if we can’t prove the tech was more consistent or accurate.
Do putter face grooves really make a difference?
Evnroll ER2 Putter Review: Verdict
We’re not going to go quite as far as saying the ER2’s cleverly shaped face grooves “gear” off centre putts back online as Evnroll claim. But we will say we were very impressed by the new tech. The putters found a home in our gear editors bag since the test which speaks volumes about the concepts potential.
