Cleveland TFI 2135 Satin Elevado CB Putter Review: You need to know
Cleveland say 80% of golfers don’t have their eyes directly over the ball when putting, which leads to some serious issues with alignment and not striking putts from the centre of the face. By raising (and highlighting) the sightline to the height of the golf balls equator they reckon they’ve created the most accurate alignment aid ever. Heavy milling across the face increases speed consistency when putts are hit off-centre. Also available with no counter-balancing.
Cleveland TFI 2135 Satin Elevado CB Putter Review: We say
Over-length counter-balanced putters haven’t quite taken off at the pace of standard length models. We reckon it’s partly down to golfers having the time to practice with them and ingrain a stroke until it feels natural. Compared to some of the putters on test the Elevado has a pretty compact head shape, but we really liked the lack of curved edges and the square-ness of the fanged back. Our test pro reckoned the Elevado was the best feeling over-length putter he’s tried, reckoning it gives the sensation of an anchored putter without actually being anchored. It’s worth pointing out the Elevado is also available as a standard-length putter without counter-balancing.
Do putter face grooves really make a difference?
Cleveland TFI 2135 Satin Elevado CB Putter Review: Verdict
Whether you’re looking at the counter-balance or standard length Elevado both feel like decent value for money. The speed optimized, milled groove face insert feels great and rolls putts every bit as well as more expensive models. We liked the raised sightline idea last year and still do. It’s simple, effective and by setting up putts from the actual centre of the face you might just hole a few more putts.
