Bettinardi BB56 Putter Review: You need to know

Utilizing technology from two different Bettinardi models, the BB56 is the most advanced putter in the BB family. The body is CNC Milled from military grade 6061 and combined with a heavier 303 stainless steel weight (cleverly disguised as the alignment stripe) behind and above the equator of the golf ball. Bettinardi says it promotes a solid contact and smooth consistent roll.

Bettinardi BB56 Putter Review: We say

Just like wide drivers, wider body putters are more forgiving. The question is how wide can you go before golfers start switching off? We reckon Bettinardi’s got it spot on with the BB56, any bigger and looks could easily have become unpalatable. How Bettinardi gets the bent putter shaft to enter the head is a work of art and encourages golfers to naturally get their hands ahead of the ball. We thought it helped the BB56 stroke putts brilliantly across the greens surface. The big long sightline won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but our test pro reckoned it would help lots of golfers align squarely at their target more often.

Do putter face grooves really make a difference?

Bettinardi BB56 Putter Review: Verdict

A very solid all-round MOI design from Bettinardi. The non-grooved face gives a firm feel, but if that’s an issue look at Bettinardi’s Inovai range instead (it’s got Bettinardi’s softest face). Competition’s fierce in the MOI category and the BB56 wasn’t any testers favourite (we preferred the Inovai), but if Bettinardi pulls at your heart strings and your stroke dictates an MOI model, you certainly won’t be disappointed.
