What we say...
2013 Irons Test
James and Joel agreed the bottom scoreline being a different colour helps alignment, although gold was an odd choice. The clubhead is quite angular but not overly chunky. Chris said the darker finish helped him see the grooves more easily while Kit said the topline was just the right size but the ball wanted to go left. This was one of Joel and Chris’ best clubs averaging 162 yards at 5 yards dispersion. Joel averaged 170 and 4 yards.
2012 Test
Jon Greathead was a massive fan of these irons and suggested they might suit anyone from a six or seven HCP right up to 18. Paul Brown suggested the ball felt a touch hard coming off the face.

The new Wilson Staff Ci11 black delivers maximum playability for the aspirational golfer and the power and forgiveness for those wanting additional technology. Its optimal headsize and shape continues the award-winning tradition while maintaining a thin topline and moderately progressive offset, perfect for that crossover player.
They offer power and accuracy, with a classic headsize and shape. The black PVD finish reduces the visual size of the head and serves to reduce glare at address. The re-engineered exoskeleton surrounding the rear cavity optimizes MOI and stability by pulling weight away from the face and then pulling it toward the heel and toe. A thinner, harder face promotes the maximum CT allowed by the USGA for stronger ball flight and greater distance.

I tried the Ci9 and the Ci11 irons yesterday in a local superstore and was INITIALLY blown away by their performance... The 7 iron in each set gave me 175-185 yards including roll on their simulator, I was so impressed that I nearly handed over the cash for them there and then. But having seen such stats before with the Macgregor NVG2 irons on simulators and been caught before, I went home to check on the loft & lie specs, would you believe it was a case of "smoke & mirrors" What Wilson have cunningly done is decrease the loft on each iron, effectively turning what would be a 6 iron in my set of Macgregor 1025cm irons into a 7 in their set. Having said this, they are a very nice set of clubs, but IF I went ahead and bought a set it would leave a gap between my Lob/Sand/Gap wedge set and the PW in the the Wilsons.... a dangerous space in the scoring clubs. THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU TAKE THE PLUNGE.
