Tour Edge Exotics CB Better Player Irons Review

We always keep a close eye on equipment developments in the US… because if something is a success over there, it usually finds its way to the UK. This is beginning to happen with Tour Edge, which enjoys good market share across the pond and a fair bit of Tour validation as well.

It is true they are better known for their Exotics line of woods but there are two new irons in that line up for 2012 as well – the CU and the CB.

The CBs are aimed at the accomplished player with a thinner topline and shorter blade length than the CUs. The sole is actually thicker than you may think but plays thinner thanks to a cleverly-bevelled trailing edge.

But as good an iron as this is, it will struggle with the competition it is up against. All the major manufacturers have
similar products, which are all excellent in their own right – but if you are someone who likes to get on a bandwagon early for the hot new thing, then these could be of interest.

Pros: They look very much like ‘proper’ golf clubs despite being forgiving.
Cons: The CBs have stiff competition.

The Exotics CB Xtreme forged irons are designed for the most discerning player to deliver the pure feel and workability of a blade with the forgiveness of a cavity back iron. The less turf interaction, the greater the ability players have to work the ball. Add the CB’s smaller forged face and near-zero offset and you’ve got a set of irons that will work just as hard as you do to improve your game.
