What we say...
In a nutshell: Designed to offer the most forgiveness in the 714 family, without looking too chunky.
Tech highlights: A progressive centre of gravity, moving upwards from long to short irons, means the former are designed to launch high, the latter lower. Lofts in the short irons have been made stronger by one degree to help. Tungsten weights raise MOI, maximise stability and maintain distance on mis-hits. A wider sole and deep, top-line undercut in the long irons frees 10g of weight to be moved lower, to help launch. In the short irons, the face has been made slightly thicker and the sole narrower to remove more weight. The topline gets thinner as the irons get shorter.
You need to know: To allow for the stronger 7-PW lofts (the PW is now 44°) there’s a 48° and 52° gap wedge as a custom option.
Details: True Temper XP 95 steel shafts; Mitsubishi Kuro Kage 65 graphite shafts. RRP: £93 per club (steel), £107 per club (graphite).
