What we say...
In a nutshell: Aimed at the highly-skilled player who wants to control the ball and move it both ways.
Tech highlights: Also forged from a block of 1025 carbon steel, the 714 MB is the company’s latest line of muscleback blades. It’s the smallest, most workable iron in the 714 family, with the thinnest topline and the narrowest sole.
You need to know: Titleist’s better player iron is similar to the 712 MB, though offering subtle upgrades. A little extra camber to the sole helps the club cut through the turf more efficiently, promoting shallower divots and improved energy transfer through the impact zone.
A straighter leading edge helps achieve a squarer set-up while an improved hosel blend reduces the appearance of offset.
Details: 4-PW, Dynamic Gold True Temper shafts. RRP: £114 per club in steel only.
