What we say...

TaylorMade equipment which bears the TP badge has in the past solely been designed for decent golfers. TaylorMade contract players play pretty much only TP products on tour so it was surprising to see these golf irons have such big long heads.

Not that it’s a bad thing as the head size helps instil confidence. Our test pro wasn’t initially a fan but then began stroking shots away with ease. The great thing about the TPs is they put in a solid performance without making the game harder to play.

If you are a reasonable golfer looking to step your current set up a notch, the r7’s could be a decent choice. The soles are quite rounded which helps reduce any tendency to dig at shots; but are narrow enough so shots can be hit from all lies.

Overall a solid iron which fills the gap between difficult to use irons and game improvement models.
