What we say...
The Tech:
A muscle cavity that features a thinner top line and more compact shape which Srixon say is ideal for “Tour” players. The 1020 carbon steel head has a lower carbon content to improve feel and feedback and a Tour VT sole encourages accurate ball striking and improved turf interaction.
Our verdict:
Since getting a foothold in the golf ball market Srixon have made some decent strides to be recognised as serious equipment manufacturers and on the evidence of the 745’s they’re doing just fine. We thought the 745’s were really good-looking, simple unfussy and very high up on the “nicest looking” chart. Performance wise the 7 iron loft was quite strong so it held its own when it came to distance. Spin was a little lower than most on test which could be a result of the SUP 10 spring steel faces shooting shots off quickly which suggests they could be well suited to golfers looking to lower ball flight for a penetrating trajectory.
Bottom line:
A technology packed iron that performs as nicely as it looks. Well worth further investigation if you’re looking to morph a better player look with excellent feel and some playability.
