What we say...
Tech:
SUP 10 spring steel faces are combined with soft 1020 carbon steel bodies for a smooth but energetic feel say Srixon. A Tour V.T sole improves turf interaction so less energy is lost at impact and dispersion is improved. Double laser-milled patterns on the clubface creates more stable and consistent spin no matter what the lie.
Our verdict:
Game improvement irons have come so far from the massive headed, wide soled beasts they used to be, and the Z 545 highlight perfectly how elegant game improving technology can look today. To our eyes the head sits perfectly behind the ball, with a top edge that’s not awkward or intruding and from above you have no idea how much game improving tech is disguised under such a good looking shell. Looking at our data we’ve got to say Srixon’s tech is working too. A tiny 1.1mph ball speed drop off and under five yards of carry distance drop off (between centred and off centre hits) means the spring steel faces are doing a great job at normalizing ball speeds across the face for great consistency on the golf course.
Bottom line:
A lovely looking club with a ton of technology wrapped up within its sleek exterior. If nothing else we reckon you should take the Z 545’s performance as proof of how Srixon can compete with the very best on combining technology, great looks and playability into a single game improving head.
