What we say...
More of a mid-cavity golf club than an out and out game improvement iron. Their lower, penetrating but long and powerful ball flight would be ideal for a reasonable golfer looking for a decent iron with a good degree of forgiveness. A lovely anti-glare satin finish tops off the Srixon’s impressive performance – a very pleasant surprise considering the price.

i-403s have improved my game
As the man said, they are not out and out game improvement irons. They have narrower soles than you would expect from game improvement irons and so do require you to be reasonably consistent with your strike, particularly on soft ground. The top line does inspire confidence though as they sit behind the ball well and the antiglare finish is very attractive. They have been around for quite a long time now and I picked some up a couple of years ago for about £150 (including AW & SW - blades). I find the irons (from 6 upwards) very good, with a nice soft feel and they hit a good distance, accurately and with a fair degree of forgiveness. The longer irons however, can be a bit tricky off the fairway as they have very low bounce and narrow soles. They are not a starter's set! If your handicap is in the teens or low 20s then I think you could enjoy using these but if you struggle to be consistent, then maybe something with a wider sole would be kinder to you.
