What we say...
These offer more control and less offset to the low to mid golf handicapper while remaining forgiving. A squarer, boxier head benefits from a narrower top edge and sole.
Ping already has a great better player iron in the S59 and an amazing game improvement iron in the G5, so the club seems a little stranded between two markets. But plenty of Tour players love it.
Mid-sized perimeter-weighted Ping golf head with reduced offset. Sole width and cavity size to provide a balance of forgiveness and playability.

I bought a set of ping i5 irons about 3 months ago for £350 (pretty much brand new- supposedly ex demo!). Ever since my golf has been so much more accurate. I am off 12 and i find the clubs launch on a more penetrating trajectory than my last set of g2's- great in windy conditions! Plenty of distance, spin and accuracy, what more could you want?

i play off a handicap of 8 and had a set of ping S59 irons which i found super clubs as long as i hit them perfectly so when the G5i irons came out i gave them a go and they are fantastic clubs with a little forgiveness for the ameatur golfer well pleased with these clubs.

These irons are superb. I am in the mid handicap category (14) and didn't want the chunky G5 set which are less workable. I also tend to hit the ball pretty high being 6 ft 5". Therefore, I wanted a quality iron with a lower more boring trajectory. The feel is superb. They are also very playable allowing me to shape my approach shots with more control. Custom fitting was also excellent. Highly recommended.

If you are a mid handicapper who hits the ball reasonably most of the time then look no further! Not as chunky as the game improvement style bricks on sticks irons, yet it is pretty forgiving and allows you to work the ball easier than many premium type irons. What more do you want, well there is of course Ping's legendary custom fitting. Additionally there is good feel from these clubs despite being cast iron, however you get the advantage of having a harder wearing club that should last you for years. Whilst also maintaining a high resale price. Buy with confidence!!!!
