What we say...
Nike have taken Slingshot weighting to the extreme. These game improvement irons have been designed to go extremely high and don’t disappoint. A very forgiving set of golf irons which have masses of loft.
Rather annoyingly the deep, enclosed cavity actually creates air drag, which causes a whistling sound on the downswing. But golfers who struggle to get the ball airborne will love these.
The Nike Slingshot's deeper centre of gravity, wider sole and lighter, hotter face make for high, long and accurate iron play.

The chunky OSS model didn't appeal to me, so I invested in a 3-PW set of the Tour model. The slingback lip was almost distracting on the OSS's, and the whistling?! How is that meant to improve your game?! That's why I chose the Tours; no slingback, no whistling, just solid and consistent performance. Even though the offset is minimal, they are still very forgiving and the short irons are very good, especially the PW. They give a nice high ball flight with plenty of spin and control, and the distance is very respectable. One bad thing about them though is that the long irons are a bit more difficult to get airbourne. But that's the same in all sets, right? I shopped around, and got mine for £250. Bargain.

I have been playing for just over a year and purchased a set these clubs in December 2006. I got a Steel-shafted 3-PW set for £350, quite a way off the marked price. Back then I was a 25 handicapper and using the clubs probably twice a week i can happily say I now play off 15. I found that as you stand over the clubs to address the ball you immediately notice the pleasing size of the club heads; The wide-soles and large faces of the irons I believe mean that I gain a psychological advantage as I feel confident with the club in my hands. The weight in the clubs for me doubled up as a swing trainer as I can feel where the club head is during the swing - this in turn helped to improve my game. The ease with which the clubs get the ball to fly high and long is very inspiring in an aspiring golfer. Not in conform with many golfers; my favoured iron is the 5, purely and simply because with the OSSs it is amazingly easy to hit cleanly and with distance; However I do struggle with the 3 iron - but i have a hybrid to replace that, so... meh. As game improvement irons I will happily vouch for the Slingshot OSS irons. Writing this now I know I can still raise my game using these clubs. Contrary to the TG review I personally love to hear the whistling sound the longer clubs make on the downswing.
