What we say...

When the Slingshots came out last year we described the am a real love-‘em-or-hate-‘em club, and there’s no particular reason to change that verdict. They’re certainly very forgiving and have a lovely feel off the face, but the rather squat look at address and odd metallic sound at impact won’t please everyone. Nike’s first game-improvement irons are apparently selling by the cartload in America, so there are obviously plenty in the ‘love ‘em’ camp.

Verdict: Ultra-forgiving irons with distinctive look and feel that won’t be to everyone’s taste.

2010 Review:

Nike’s muscle-packed Slingshot irons feature a very easy-to-hit 4-iron hybrid replacement, but the irons looked good too, according to our testers. Craig commented that it was a really nice set and liked the fact that, while they were certainly designed for game-improvers, the head wasn’t massively large. The Powerbar technology also helps to give the Slingshot iron a bit of muscle as well as forgiveness so is a powerful beast.
