What we say...
Nike Pro Combo OS
The Nike Pro Combo has been a popular set of clubs for a long while as Nike have grown in the golf market. In 2005 the company have grown the range to carry both a Tour and Oversized version.
Oversized irons do not always go down well with the golfing pursist or better players, but you will hardly even notice the head has grown with the new Pro Combo OS.
The highly polished glossy head with mirrored cavity will not be to everyone’s liking but obvisouly does not affect performance.
An undercut cavity in the long-irons ensures playability and forgiveness on off-centre strikes. It is nice to see an oversized forged head as the feel is fantastic and opens up the world of forgings to a wider audience. We particularly liked the long-irons in this set – the choice of heads and shafts seem to be very well matched. We would put them among some of the easiest to hit on test, so if you are not yet a piad member of the rescue club brigade these are worth consideration.
They’re for
The player who wants maximum benefit from oversized irons yet still wants the feel offered by a forged design.
Verdict
A set that work very well, yet look a little bling as everything is so shiny. If you can overlook this you could be onto a winner with these.
