What we say...

Nike NDS

Nike Irons for less than £400 have got to be worth a look. The NDA is a lovely looking, dual finish head. It bears all the trademarks of a quality club with only one small gripe – the plastic mirror in the cavity.

The head sits well behind the ball and is not overly large which comes as a welcome change. These clubs are much more subtle than some of the spade-like heads seen here and they are uncluttered and more traditionally shaped. After hitting consistent shot after shot we were, quite simply, sold. Perhaps not the most forgiving iron, but they do perform and look great at the same time.

The NDS will appeal to a lot of mid-handicap golfers who like a clean, traditional club from a big brand. The quality components say a lot about the company’s dedication to offering good quality no matter who the club is aimed at and these will sell in big numbers.

Verdict: A high performing iron that could make the shortlist for many. Not the most forgiving, but looks make up for it. Good feel and unfussy head should be a draw to lots of you.
