What we say...
These fantastic irons share much in common with the Titleist 804.OS mentioned earlier: they’re beautifully designed, forged clubs that anyone would be proud to own, but in sheer game-improvement terms aren’t the easiest clubs to use. Yet, these might be the most playable of Mizuno’s impeccable range of quality irons, but for raw novices they might still look a little scary compared to the MacGregor M455s, for instance. Mid-handicappers, though, could hardly do better.
Verdict: Playable forged irons for improving players who take their golf seriously.

Mizuno MX-23
Quality, Quality, Quality. The MX-23 sit behind the ball just screaming: “Hit me, hit me!!!”.
The forged heads, with deep pocketed cavities in the long-irons progressing through to solid construction short irons, will have many of the better players salivating uncontrollably.
The MX-23 suit a wide variety of players from tour stars to the average yet good ball-striking club player. The satin finish was noticeable more pleasing to use in bright sunshine with less glare annoying the player.
Mizuno still set the benchmark when it comes to forged golf clubs and these cracking heads have pretty big faces and a lovely strong but thin top edge. Being two fairly good ball strikers we loved the feel and shape that the shots had, but would readily accept they would not be quite as forgiving if you were having a bad swing day. The short-irons have a lovely shape and design and would be simple to use around the greens from all situations.
They’re for
Better player who appreciate the quality of a great forging and will not be intimidated with losing a bit of distance when not hitting the ball well.
Verdict
One of the best looking clubs for this year. You must decide if your game’s good enough to play with them week in week out.
