What we say...
We’ve awarded the Superstrong GMs our Best Better Player award, but they’re not just aimed at the single-figure golfer. They bear all the features a better player (16 handicapper and below) would love.
There’s less offset, because more accomplished golfers don’t need so much help to square the face at impact. The soles aren’t as wide as a standard game-improvement set, meaning decent players can nip shots cleanly from all different types of lies. And an anti-glare finish, which rusts with time, is something that, until a few years ago, would have been seen only on a Tour player’s clubs.
The MD Golf Superstrong GM go from 3-iron to pitching wedge, so if your game needs rescue-style long irons, the GMs aren’t the set for you. But if you are a consistent ball striker, you’ll enjoy hitting the beautifully designed and finished heads. Our test pro couldn’t tell from hitting shots if the heads were forged or not, so expect bundles of feel.
Just don’t forget the heads will rust with time. Leave them wet in the car boot for a week, and you can expect orange rust spots to appear by the time you next play.
All perfectly natural, but if it bothers you, we recommend trying another of our selections.
Using a similar shape as the award-winning Tungsten Ti, the club is finished in gunmetal black and the face is steel as opposed to titanium.

Bought these irons based on the strong review they had in Todays Golfer, and can't believe how good these are for the money... I was previously using Mizuno MX-15s, which had served me well and helped get me down to 18, but was finding them a bit limited in terms of their playability. I can't really justify spending £500 on a set of irons, so the MDs looked really appealing. Even better when I turned up at Nevada Bobs to find they were down to £199 in the sale... Hit a few balls in the practice area and could instantly feel the difference over my Mizunos. It should be noted that the club heads are noticeably smaller than many people might be used to, but they suit me perfectly as I was never really able to get on with clubs like Callaways due to the size of the head/sole. Have only played one round with these so far but I can already tell I am going to enjoy playing with these... I didn't understand what reviewers meant when they talked about the "feel" you get from a club, but a few shots with these clubs and I now know....
