MD Golf
Forged Oversize

Following on from the hugely successful MD Golf Superstrong forged irons the new Oversized Forged irons are a welcome change to the less consistent golfer who has long been yearning for the delights of a soft, forged iron.

The heads are large and quite heavily rounded but sit nicely behind the ball. The top edge of the long irons is quite wide but inspired confidence where other heads seem to look chunky. The feel is delightful and consistent wherever you hit the ball on the face.

The leading edge sits quite tightly on the turf – a look that many better players will like and we found them very easy to hit from any situation. The components are good and make these a great value set. As one of the heavier sets on test they may not be for everyone, but they are also available in a reasonable quality, lighter graphite shaft for less that £400.

Verdict: A lovely, highly polished finished makes this oversize iron stand out from the crowd. It performs well and will be a benefit to both lower and higher handicapped golfers alike.
